New EURO 7 emissions regulation

March 29, 2021

In order to comply with the objectives of the Paris Agreement on climate protection, the EU wants to tighten the CO2 limits under the forthcoming Euro 7 emissions standard for cars, vans, trucks and buses.

This initiative is part of the Green Pact for Europe and the EU’s commitment to accelerate the transition to sustainable and intelligent mobility. As a result, the European Commission is conducting a public consultation on the new Euro 7 emissions standard. The new regulation is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2021. *

The new regulation aims to overcome the complexity of the previous emission standard, to address recent pollution challenges and to improve the enforcement process for vehicles on EU roads. **

Although it is too early to draw conclusions, the new EURO 7/VII standards have started to generate different reactions and opinions. Some believe that they will lead to the rapid phasing out of combustion engines, while others believe that stricter measures will make the situation difficult for electric cars as well.

We can only look forward to the new regulations with optimism, hoping for a further breakthrough for EVs. This would mean a greater demand for our service in installing charging stations and a greater focus on sustainable energy sources, hence the application of our expertise in installing photovoltaic systems.
